Hockey Returns to Armenia: Fastex and Yohealth Step In as Title Sponsors

After 15 years, ice hockey is back in Armenia - and it’s making a powerful comeback. Fastex and Yohealth proudly served as the official title sponsors of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division IV, held from April 13 to 19 at the Figure Skating and Hockey Sports School in Yerevan.

Led by head coach Vadim Guskov, Armenia’s national team featured 21 players from clubs across the Armenian Hockey League.

The tournament opened on April 13 with a festive ceremony and a colorful flag parade. The event’s official mascot, the Armenian Gampr dog, led the flags of all six participating countries - Armenia, Iran, Kuwait, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Uzbekistan - onto the ice.

In the opening round, Uzbekistan secured a 13-3 win over Kuwait, while Armenia delivered a stunning 24-3 victory against Malaysia—its largest win in national team history. Armenia followed up with another impressive performance, defeating Uzbekistan in a thrilling match. After a 2-2 tie in regular time, Armenia triumphed in the shootout with a flawless 2-0 score.

However, on April 16, Armenia suffered its first loss in a closely contested match against Kuwait, who edged out a 5-4 win in overtime.

Fastex continues to support the growth of sports in Armenia, championing both local and international athletic events and helping bring global competitions back to the country
